At Myo Speech and Feeding Center, we are dedicated to serving the needs of our local and surrounding communities with expertise, compassion, and empathy. Our goal is to provide the highest quality speech, feeding, and myofunctional therapy services to enhance each individual's communication, nourishment, and overall well-being. We achieve this by continuously expanding our knowledge of the latest evidence-based treatments, techniques, and programs, ensuring that individuals and their families receive the best possible support in reaching their personal goals.
Effective speech-language pathology intervention begins with an individual, complete diagnostic assessment of speech, language , oral motor function, and/or feeding skills. All assessments include clinical observations as well as standardized and non-standardized evaluation tools. Upon completion of testing, a diagnosis is formulated and a report is written. Plan of care is then discussed with the family. Evaluations are between 1-2 hours in length.
We incorporate a diverse range of techniques and modalities to ensure therapy is both engaging and effective. Our individual sessions are designed to provide intensive, personalized treatment, maximizing progress for each client. While most sessions take place in our office, we also offer teletherapy options for added convenience and accessibility.
Some of the programs and modalities we utilize include:
Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual's specific needs, ensuring the best possible outcomes in speech, feeding, and myofunctional therapy.
I strive to improve all aspects of communication, including sound production, vocal quality, speech fluency, language understanding, language expression, and social communication. Pediatric speech therapy at Myo Speech and Feeding Center is designed to assess and treat a variety of communication disorders in a fun and nurturing environment. Depending on the age and speech difficulty, we may talk, play, read books, or use interactive activities with your child to model speech and teach appropriate sound production and language development.
Many of the clients at Myo Speech and Feeding Center have an underlying oral motor dysfunction or are experiencing sensory sensitivities. A full oral exam is always completed as well as observations of the client and how they interact with preferred and nonpreferred foods. Sensory sensitivities may cause the child to gag or vomit and refuse foods ,resulting in a restrictive diet.
Myo Speech and Feeding Center provides individualized treatment plans to optimize function of orofacial muscles. Our program is used to improve:
-Improper breathing patterns
-Tongue Thrust swallow pattern
-Incorrect oral resting postures
-Swallowing and chewing disorders
-Oral habit elimination
-Pre-post surgical lingual and labial frenectomy therapy (Neuromuscular Re-education)
We are an "out of network" provider. Each family will pay on the day of service and will be provided with an invoice ("super bill") which includes ICD-10 and CPT codes. The family can submit invoices to their insurance providers to be reimbursed for evaluation/therapy expenses depending on their benefits. Our services are often covered by out-of-network benefits. It is recommended you contact your insurance company before starting services to learn what/how much will be reimbursed.
